Turn an charm bracelet into a statement necklace!

Do you have a great charm bracelet that sits in your jewelry box because it's hard to wear because the charms are bulky or heavy? Maybe it has been passed down to you and you don't wear it because you don't want to loose any of the charms.

Try this easy DIY and you will have a great necklace that will be a conversation starter!

All you need is:
  • A vintage charm bracelet, or any layered clasp or toggle bracelet, new or old.
  • Ribbon: satin, silk or velvet in the color of your choice.
Directions:
  • Cut 2 pieces of ribbon in equal lenghts and tie each to the ends of the bracelet and fasten with a pretty bow... Instant necklace!
  • Or if its difficult to tie a knot at the clasp and there is a sturdy chain on the bracelet, cut one long peice of ribbon and thread it through the last link of chain on each end of the clasp. The ribbon will be doubled and have a more polished look.
You could layer with multiple ribbons or strands of lace. And you could also attach a flower or brooch to one side of the clasp to jazz it up a bit.

I will post pics of the necklaces I did with my mother's high school charm bracelet and one that I did with a Betsy Johnson charm bracelet shortly and they turned out great!!!!
